I’m currently wrapping up a travel assignment in Wyoming so we’ve been in and out of Salt Lake City, Utah multiple times for the airport. Back in November, I went to Big Cottonwood Canyon with my sister and the kids.

Hidden Falls is 4.7 miles up Big Cottonwood Canyon. There are two parking lots you’ll see but you wanna park in the second one, it’s the smaller lot. In November, the lot was about half full so I imagine during warmer weather it would be packed. The views are beautiful!

You’ll see this sign right before crossing the road to get to the trail.

Once you cross the road, there will be two options to go. You want to stay towards the left. If you accidently go right (like we did), you’ll head up Mill B Fork Trail. This trail is not kid friendly! We got pretty high and then realized we were going the wrong way. It was a nice view though!

So we headed back down and went back towards the left.

We had to cross the very small stream when we went. It was very doable, even with a toddler. Not even 5 minutes down, you’ll see the waterfall!

Hidden Falls

After Hidden Falls, we drove back down Big Cottonwood Canyon Road and stopped at Birches Picnic Area.

You could get a really nice view of Big Cottonwood Creek and even cross over it on a little bridge.

The kids really loved it!

I read about Hidden Falls on this blog post and decided we should check it out!

Here’s the location for Hidden Falls and Birches Picnic Area in Google Maps.

If I’m ever in Salt Lake City, Utah again, we will definitely go back and explore more. It was so beautiful!
